On July 24th, the review meeting of the 13th "Jin Sanfa · Deyou" Cup National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on Nonwoven Materials Development and Application was held at Soochow University. Li Lingshen, vice president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, Li Guimei, president of the China Industrial Textile Association, Ji Xiaofeng, president of the China Textile and Apparel Education Society, and Zha Zuoming, vice president of Soochow University, among other leaders and experts, attended the review meeting.

The "Jin Sanfa · Deyou" Cup National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on Nonwoven Materials Development and Application is an innovative design activity for undergraduate, vocational college and postgraduate students majoring in nonwoven materials and engineering both at home and abroad. It is a brand project that guides young students to stimulate their innovative spirit and cultivate their entrepreneurial awareness. A total of 249 entries from 29 universities across the country were received for this competition, covering fields such as filtration and separation, medical and health care, safety protection, and smart wearables. These entries demonstrated the innovation of the nonwoven industry, the multi-disciplinary nature of production technology, the flexibility of production processes, the diversity of product structures, the wide substitutability of application fields, and the sustainability of green development.

Soochow University is among the first batch of universities included in the "211 Project" and the "2011 Plan" of the country. It is also a "Double First-Class" university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. The School of Textile and Clothing Engineering has a talent cultivation system covering the entire industrial chain of textile and clothing. Vice President Zha Zuoming of Soochow University delivered a speech, stating that the number and quality of entries in this year's competition have reached new highs compared to previous years. This not only reflects the innovative understanding and creative application of nonwoven materials by contemporary college students, but also showcases the rich achievements in cultivating new engineering talents. It fully demonstrates the pioneering spirit and practical responsibility of textile students in the new era.

At the meeting, Li Guimei, the president of the China Industrial Textiles Association, introduced the situation of the review expert group and the review requirements. Yang Xuhong, the director of the Department of Nonwoven Materials and Engineering at Soochow University, introduced the situation of this competition.

After expert review, a total of 1 grand prize, 3 first prizes (including 1 "Deyou · Wiping Future Star"), 15 second prizes (including 5 "Deyou · Green Development Awards"), and 57 third prizes were awarded in this competition. Ji Xiaofeng, the president of the China Textile and Apparel Education Society, announced the review results. The list of winners will be announced soon and the award ceremony will be held during the 2025 China International Technical Textiles and Nonwovens Exhibition.
